ParkRisk grew out of the frustration of receiving parking tickets without a clear picture of whether other drivers had experienced the same problem nearby.

Parking mistakes can involve unclear signs, payment issues, wrong zone codes, time limits, permit requirements, or temporary restrictions.

ParkRisk makes those experiences visible beside available official rules, while keeping source and confidence clear.

Official sources can describe prohibitions, reserved spaces, tariffs, resident areas, schedules, and other local conditions where data is available.

Community reports show where parking issues or tickets occurred, what drivers experienced, and whether supporting evidence was reviewed.

The two sources remain distinct: an official rule is not a community report, and a report does not prove the legal interpretation of a rule.

A report begins with the exact map location, followed by what happened, the date, whether a ticket was received, an optional fine amount, and an optional note.

A ticket or sign photo is optional. When provided, it is kept private for evidence review rather than published with personal or plate information.

Reports are anonymous by default and remain individual observations, even when several reports appear close together.

At wider zoom levels, the map groups nearby reports and uses density areas to show where reported parking activity is concentrated.

As you zoom in, clusters give way to individual reports so nearby experiences are not incorrectly treated as the same parking place.

Area summaries calculate counts, reasons, and activity from community reports; official information remains a separately identified map and spot-check source.

New, moderator-reviewed, evidence-reviewed, and needs-information reports use distinct labels and colors.

Those colors describe the confidence state of an individual report. Density colors describe the concentration of reports in an area.

Official sources carry their provider and regulation links; community reports carry moderation or evidence status. Availability and confidence are not the same as legal certainty.

For drivers, ParkRisk combines sources to provide context before parking and a place to record what happened afterward.

As coverage grows, anonymized and aggregated patterns may also help municipalities, researchers, and mobility partners identify recurring issues with signs, payments, or local communication.
